After unbundling Teams and Microsoft 365 for the European Union in reaction to a complaint about anti-competitive behaviour, the change is now being rolled out worldwide.
Enterprise customers already subscribed to Office 365 E1, E3, E5, or Microsoft 365 E1, E3, E5, can continue to renew and upgrade seats to their current plans as usual, but also have the option to switch to the new suites with Teams unbundled on their anniversary date if they wish.
Net new enterprise customers who require Teams will need two SKUs, a Microsoft 365 (no Teams) suite and Microsoft Teams Enterprise license.
For business customers there is no change, the existing M365 Business Basic, Standard and Premium (including Teams) suites will remain available, but there will also be a (no Teams) version at a slightly cheaper price point if required.
